KEVIN BYRNE made a goalscoring return to the Dog & Duck as Wellingborough Town slipped to another disappointing defeat.
The former Doughboys striker opened the scoring on the half-hour mark with a crisp volley from close range that flew beyond John Hughes.

Two minutes later, though, Wellingborough skipper Tim Wooding curled a 30-yard free-kick into the top corner o
f the net following a foul on Dan Spaughton.

St Neots regained the advantage in the opening minute of the second half when Luigi Rocco's low drive was deflected home.

Dean McIlroy's well-struck effort secured victory just before the hour as Wellingborough failed to create any clear-cut chances until substitute Alfie Taylor saw a late shot tipped away.

Wellingborough man of the match: Tim Wooding.

Desborough Town slipped to only their fourth Premier Division defeat this season after Holbeach pulled off a surprise victory at the
Waterworks Field.

Ian Dunn put the visitors into an early lead. But Paul Caswell equalised for Ar Tarn shortly afterwards.

However, Holbeach wrapped up the points when Dunn netted again five minutes before the break.

Desborough looked brighter after the break but failed to find the back of the net and had to accept for a first defeat in 10 games.

Ar Tarn boss Steve Noble said: "I couldn't have any
complaints about the result because we were awful in the first half.

"We never got out of the changing-rooms and Holbeach were well on top.

"In the second half we were much improved. But we just couldn't score."

Desborough man of the match: Chris Logan.
