A devastated Manny Panther is hoping for leniancy when the appeal against his sending-off is heard.
The Rushden & Diamonds midfielder was sent off on his debut for the club having only arrived on loan less than 24 hours earlier.

It certainly seemed a harsh decision as he was shown a straight red card for reacting angrily to a poor challenge from Michael Simpson.

And now Panther is desperate for the decision to be overturned.
"I was so shocked. I just couldn't believe it," he said.

"I've never been sent off before in my career. I thought he was probably going to book us both.

"But when I saw the red card it was just a case of – 'wow!'.

"It's obviously not the way you want to start out at a new club.

"But, hopefully, when they've seen the video and it shows I didn't headbutt anyone we can get it resolved.

"The referee has said I headbutted him but I definitely didn't."
