Rushden & Diamonds today made two more signings to take Garry Hill's summer transfers into double figures.
They have added defenders Sagi Burton and Gareth Jelleyman to the Nene Park squad, both on one-year deals subject to medicals.
The former Peterborough United pair are set to face Posh in Saturday's NFA Maunsell Cup final after impressing Hill during pre-season.
Burton and Jelleyman arrived on trial ahead of the opening friendly at Halstead Town before also joining Diamonds' training camp in Portugal last week.
They featured in warm-up games on the Algarve against local side Portimonense and Coca-Cola Championship play-off finalists Bristol City as Diamonds shared a six-goal thriller and then produced a shock 1-0 win.
Central defender Burton, 30, began his professional career as a trainee at Crystal Palace and he has made more than 300 first-team appearances with spells at Colchester United, Port Vale, Crewe Alexandra, Peterborough, Shrewsbury Town and Barnet.
Former Welsh under-21 international left-back Jelleyman, 27, started out with Peterborough and joined Mansfield Town after a brief loan spell at Boston United four years ago.
He suffered relegation from League Two with the Stags at the end of last season and decided to leave Field Mill - despite being offered fresh terms when his contract ran out.
The double deal is likely to end Diamonds' transfer activity ahead of the Blue Square Premier campaign as Hill completes his defensive line-up.
Burton and Jellyman join right-back Curtis Osano and goalkeeper Alan Marriott plus utility player Scott Mitchell, midfielder Rob Wolleaston, winger Jamie McGuinness and forwards Daryl Clare, Lee Phillips and Dean McDonald.
Meanwhile there will be international action at Nene Park next month as England's under-17s prepare for their European Championship qualifiers.
They face Portugal on Wednesday, August 27, with further games against Israel at Peterborough two nights later and Italy at Northampton Town's Sixfields Stadium on August 31.
John Peacock's squad won the Victory Shield as under-16s last season and they are getting ready for a trip to Spain in October.
Tickets will cost £3 for adults in advance or £5 on the day and £1 for children and concessions. Group bookings are also available.
