Challinor sold to Cambridge

Rushden & Diamonds have sold Jon Challinor to Blue Square Premier rivals Cambridge United for £15,000.
The 27-year-old completed his move after passing a medical this morning after the two clubs had agreed a fee on Monday.

Challinor, who had one year left to run on his contract at Nene Park, made 45 appearances for Diamonds, scoring 11 goals having joined from Exeter City last year.

Club secretary Matt Wild said: "Cambridge approached us with the offer to acquire to the services of the player on Monday and given the amount of time left on Jon's contract at Nene Park coupled with the deal that Jon has been offered with Cambridge, the club have allowed Jon to move on".
