One of the Spiritual retreats I teach at is called Hafan-y-coed in Wales, actually in the Brecon Beacons. It is a beautiful part of the country.
I was teaching a week of Intense and Practical Mediumship, which is a hard week.
It is intense and for people who have a good grasp of their Mediumistic abilities, it is not so much about teaching them how to make a link with someone from the Spirit world but how to improve that link.
Sometimes students on the course have what you may call an 'overload' and may need to chill out.
I spoke to the manager of Hafan-y-coed and it was agreed that on the Tuesday he would drive us out to the Dragon waterfalls for the afternoon, which is a beautiful place, a tourist attraction and somewhere, where you can relax.
So on the Tuesday afternoon we all climbed on the minibus but it would not start.
"That's funny" said the manager, "it was running this morning" but the battery was flat as a pan cake, so back in we went to the class room. The following morning, a Wednesday, again we all trooped out to the bus again and this time it started.
Off we finally went to Dragon falls with the manager of Hafan-y-coed Steve driving.
We arrived at Dragon falls but it was closed for cleaning as it is part of a huge attraction and as this was a weekday they tend to do their cleaning around this time, so Steve then suggested we go and find our own water falls
Well we headed off into the Brecon Beacons and after about another 20 minutes people began to call out that they needed urgently a call of nature, or a cigarette. Steve then said he was completely lost, the roads or lanes are so narrow and all look the same.
We pulled up by a small hump back bridge and off everyone scattered in different directions. Steve stood on the bridge rolling a cigarette when suddenly he called out to me "Den, have a look at this".
I walked over to Steve and noticed on this small bridge were flowers and candles - what you may see when there has been a car crash and somebody had died there. I also noticed candles and a small square brick with paint drawn on it 'NIA', which is a Welsh girls name. Also there was a huge piece of slate with Nia's Bridge written upon it.
I called all the students together on the bridge and asked them to blend with the surroundings and see if they where aware of anything.
I was aware of a young girl about 17 years of age, I could smell her sweet perfume and her energy was bouncing around me.
I asked again if anyone had sensed anything, most said 'No' or gave details of a car crash. I was aware this was not a car crash, that something smaller was involved. I asked the students again to blend and one of them said 'A motorbike' Again that did not feel right, I turned and there Nia stood right next to me. She had black hair, as I said only about 17, a very cheeky energy about her. She pointed to some rocks beside the bridge.
After this we decided to return so we headed back to Hafan-y-coed. On the way I had Nia in my mind I kept hearing 'You'll see me on horse back', also Nia kept showing me herself but she seemed bigger.
On the Thursday evening the students do an Evening of Clairvoyance at Hafan-y-coed where members of the public attend so they can practice their new learned skills.
The service started great, we had an opening prayer and some hymns followed by the healing hymn. It is customary at some Spiritual churches/centres that during the 2 minute silence to send out healing thoughts to call out the names of loved ones in the Spirit World. As the two minute silence progressed, names where being called when suddenly I distinctly heard the name 'Nia' being called.
I stopped the service for a second and asked a lady in the second row "Excuse me but did you call out the name Nia", she answered "Yes" to which I said "I stood on Nia's Bridge today", her eyes filled up and she just said "You know about Nia" I replied, "Let's get the service over with and I will speak to you after wards".
Once the service was finished and everything packed away I noticed that the lady I had spoke to about Nia, was now sitting at the back of the hall, along with a teenage girl. I had not noticed before but the girl was a spitting image of Nia except slightly bigger.
I pulled a chair up and sat next to them, the lady said "I have no idea why we came here really, I am Nia's Aunty and this is her cousin", I looked at the young lady and she was the exact same as Nia, hair face everything except this girl was a little heavier built.
I explained as to how we found Nia's bridge where the lady explained "I come from miles away in England, I was visiting Nia's parents when I decided to go to the market, I had never been before where I found one lone flyer laying on a stall it explained about the Spiritual service tonight, so I thought...I wonder".
Then Nia came very close to me explaining many details and one of them was, "Nia is telling me you have a pink Nokia mobile phone" to her cousin, who promptly brought it out of her coat pocket, I asked "Are there any photos of Nia on there" and remembering ' You'll see me on horse back' I asked, "do you have a photo on there of Nia sitting on a horse". The girl's eyes lit up and after fiddling with the mobile for a minute turned it round where I could see this Nia sitting on a horse in a field set out with gymkhana type jumps.
Nia was exactly as I had seen her. I found out that Nia had been on a quad bike and had gone down by the bridge too fast and it had flipped over. She passed to Spirit on the rocks by the bridge, taking Nia's life instantly.
Nia then went on to send a message to her family. I could not believe that this young girl in Spirit had formulated all these happenings - that on Tuesday when the water falls were open, the bus, that ran perfectly well that morning would suddenly have a flat battery, that on the Wednesday when the bus was good to go, Dragon falls would be closed, in-between time her Aunty and cousin where in Wales and also in Swansea, and an old flyer showing where Hafan-y-coed was, and that each Thursday there is an Evening of Clairvoyance there.
So how is that for weaving so many people in so many directions to be able to bring love and comfort to her grieving family. The lady and her Daughter gave me a hug and thanked me, but I will never forget how Nia managed to bring all this together.
