Ghost hunters are on the trail of spirits that haunt a Corby theatre.
Dennis Binks and members of his Northamptonshire Paranormal Investigation Team are hoping to bring the ghosts of the Willows Arts Centre out to play before the old theatre is bulldozed at the end of this month.
Four mediums will be roaming the building late at night, along with members of the public who will be hoping to see the spirits said to haunt its corridors and rooms.
Corby medium Dennis and his fellow clairvoyants decided to hold the event after hearing the Willows was going to be demolished.
He said: "People have had countless experiences with spirits there over the years.
"Apparently, they struggle to get cleaners in to the Festival Hall because people have been so scared in the past.
"Staff have seen a burned man who looks a bit like Flame from X-Men, and there is someone called the Grey Lady who can often be heard crying.
"People have also reported a very cold feeling, similar to when you open a fridge.
"These things tend to happen late at night or when there's only one of two people around."
The Willows will be shut at the end of July to make way for access to the Corby Cube building site. It will be replaced by a new theatre.
Dennis added: "We won't get the chance to do it again.
"When the theatre is knocked down, we believe the spirits will stay
there and just inhabit whatever is built on the site.
"We also think the Willows was built on an old graveyard so we're not sure what we'll be faced with on the night.
"People might think we're mad to go into places like this but we don't find it frightening.
"We'll have four teams of about 10 people in the festival hall, the theatre, the Willow Room and in the church downstairs.
"We're expecting the spirits to come out because they do seem to know when there are structural alterations or changes happening.
"We'll also have a couple of trans-mediums there whose faces actually change to resemble the spirits."
Tickets for the event are £10 which includes refreshments and any profits will go to providing equipment for the team.
