Scores of walkers donned wacky dress on Friday to raise vital funds for a Corby day care hospice.
Despite the damp weather, the Lakelands Late Night Legs walk saw dozens of residents walk five miles to raise as much cash as possible for the Lakelands Day Care Hospice in Butland Road.

For the first time, the annual event was held at night and walkers were encouraged to dress up their legs in unusual socks and clothes.

The walk started at Corby Boating Lake and took a route around the town.

Nurse manager Bet Hughes said: "The weather was dreadful, it was very damp, but otherwise it went very well.

"Everyone who took part enjoyed themselves. Even the little dogs that some people took along enjoyed it.

" One man even had a ballerina-type skirt on and the majority had some sort of wacky clothes on.

"They all walked together. We had Corby's own Mr Motivator, Garfield to warm everyone up at the boating lake before the walk began."
