Two rescued from flat fire

Two people were rescued from their ground floor flat in Corby by firefighters after a burning candle set fire to furniture.
The blaze happened at about 9pm yesterday in Wedmore Court.

A man and woman in their late 30s were rescued by firefighters after the alarm had been raised by a neighbour who head their smoke alarm.

The pair were semi conscious when rescued by firefighters and were found in the living room of their flat.

No-one else was evacuated from the three-storey flat.
