Little old deer is given a warm winter coat

ALL little old deers need a warm coat in the winter – including one hotel patron who has been feeling the cold during the recent snowfall.

Doris the Golden Deer has adorned the balcony of the Hind Hotel, in Sheep Street, Wellingborough, for more than 100 years.

But in recent days hotel owner Shasha Khan says she’s been so cold that he thought she needed wrapping up.

So he’s dressed her in her very own sheepskin coat.

Mr Khan, 39, said: “I touched Doris the other morning and found her freezing cold.

“I feel that she is the ultimate custodian of the Hind Hotel given that she has stood on the balcony for over 100 years, so we bought her a coat.

“Many vulnerable people in our community might not be aware that temperatures are set to drop as we approach the weekend.

“Doris wearing a coat acts as a signal that its going to get bitterly cold.”
