Plans to build a new hotel and shopping complex on the Brackmills industrial estate in Northampton have been passed.
The 84-bedroom, four-storey hotel would have conference and meeting rooms as well as a bar and a restaurant.

Next to it would be four small shops, six office units, a day nursery and 12 industrial units.

It is hoped the facilities would be used by people at existing businesses on the industrial estate.

Passing the proposals, West Northamptonshire Development Corporation (WNDC) planning committee member David Dickinson said: "It's certainly an attractive proposal and I'm sure there's a need for these facilities in the area."

The scheme was unanimously backed by the WNDC's planning committee.
