Preparations are well under way for this year's charity dragonboat race along the River Nene, at Midsummer Meadow in Northampton, this Sunday.
The annual Rotary Dragonboat Race is being sponsored by Allied Irish Bank and will feature 36 teams from the Northamptonshire business community.

The event will be raising money for the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance and Northamptonshire Young Carers.

There will also be a range of activities for families throughout the day, including a show by Daventry Dog Club, a Battle of Britain Memorial Lancaster flypast and live music from three bands.

Hasse Marrum, the festival chairman for the Rotary, said: "This is the fifth year of the Dragonboat Race and it has grown to become one of the most popular community events of the year.

"With all the additional attractions, it has all the ingredients to be the best yet."

The races are being held from 9.30am until 5.30pm on Sunday. Admission is free.
